The beginning.....

It is almost 2 years to the day that I made the conscious decision to change my life forever.

I remember it well because England were playing in Euro 2012 and I had just watched them get knocked out of yet another tournament on penalties. This time by the Italians.

I had been at the local pub with my wife and friends, like most weekends, and returned home with a large meat feast pizza and a few more cans of lager to drown my sorrows.

After staggering up to bed a couple of hours later I caught a glimpse of my naked body in the mirror just before collapsing on the duvet. It did nothing to lighten my already miserable mood.

The truth is I was in a bad place with my body, my health, and without really realising it, my life in general. More to come on that in a little while.

Anyway I woke up the next morning, standard hangover in full effect, and said to myself enough is enough. It was time to make a change.

See the thing is I have always been relatively fit and healthy. Never the most athletically gifted or physically strong person in the world but in decent enough shape due to playing various sports and going to the gym off and on for years.

But I was now a thirty-something adult male who liked a beer and takeaway too much and it was taking its toll. Big time! Out of shape, over weight, a little lost in life to be quite honest. It had to change right now or I knew it was a very slippery slope from here on in.

Making that decision to change is by far the best choice I have ever made. But that's the easy part. It's the actual following through with the change that is the hard part.

I mean how many times have we woke up with a stinking hangover and said 'that's it, I'm never drinking again' or looked at our bodies in the mirror and said 'right I'm going on a diet tomorrow I need to lose some weight'.

We do it all the time but it never seems to last for longer than a week or two at most.

Well this time it was different for me. I made the decision to do something about my health and I stuck to it.

Two years down the line and I can honestly say that I am in the best shape of my life, and much much more than just physical shape as well. My life has changed unimaginably. And so can yours if that's what you want it to.

I am here to tell you that change is possible. If I can do it then anyone can. And more than that I am going to tell you how you can do it too.

It's not easy, but nothing worthwhile ever is really is it.

But believe me it is worth it.

And trust me, I promise you can get to where you want to be too.

It's not a diet, it's a lifestyle.

Come join me on the journey.......
